Part 1 [You Played A Show]
Taylor’s POV:
It was finally happening I had been his fan since I was 15, I’m now 18, so is he for that matter. He started out like most young aspiring musicians putting covers up on YouTube and after he developed a pretty good fan base he started posting originals. I discovered him by chance but I’m glad I did his voice is so pure and beautiful and I finally get to hear it live. Once Twitter came around I made an account just for him and he quickly followed back and he’s even replied a few times. All the new fans are jealous but in my opinion their all fakes they only like him cause he’s hot which isn’t a bad thing but to me it’s all about his music. But I’m getting off topic he finally got an EP released and was touring to promote it. Aside from the show you got a free meet and greet. Which is why I was so nervous for Friday. Not only would I see him perform live but I was going to meet him. They week dragged on like I knew it would but it was finally Friday. I was happy that I convinced a few of my friends to go I didn’t want to look like a loner. Around 5:00 we all left my house and headed to the venue. We were in second row right in the middle of the stage. It was all becoming so real now. In a couple hours I would be inches from Joe Jonas. I was relived he wasn’t that famous yet because pretty soon he would be and the small venue he’s at now would be an area or stadium with thousands of screaming girls most of them there only for his looks. Hoping for a wink or touch of his hand. Not caring about his music. I’m not saying all fans are like that but most of the new ones will be. Before I knew it was 7:00 and the lights dimmed and the intro my favorite song started playing; ‘Lighthouse’. He walked out and sat on the stool in front of the microphone. He started singing and during the chorus we locked eyes. I thought I was crazy but I know we did. He occasionally looked at other fans to make it not so obvious. He played 7 originals and 2 covers. And just like that it was over, like it never happened. My friends and I all got up and headed to the line where he was meeting the fans. I don’t know how we ended up being last but we were. I was digging in my purse for his EP so he could sign it when my friend nudged me, I looked at her and she pointed in front of her and there he was. I’ll tell you something HD videos did wonders but nothing was as beautiful as seeing him in person. I swallowed the lump in my throat and smiled at him.
“Hey.” I muttered.
“Hey,” he smirked at me and then added “you were in the second row right?”
I felt my face go beat red and looked down embarrassed. I didn’t have time to responded because my friend did it for me.
“Yep that was her.” She stated twirling her hair. Seriously I love her but she just wants everyone.
“Cool hey did you make a twitter for me?”
This time I responded she was not going to sweet talk him.
“Yea I did. I actually found you on YouTube when I was 15 and ever since I’ve been a fan.”
“Really?”
“Yea.” Was all I could say as I felt my face go red again.
“Well listen I have a few days off would you want to get coffee?”
Did he really just ask that. I felt my friends subliminally nudge me and I looked at him.
“That sounds great. You want me or e-mail or something?”
He chuckled “I think e-mails are a little outdated.” He pulled his phone out and handed it to me. I put my number in, hit save and handed it to him.
He looked down at the screen and then smiled at me holding his hand out. “It’s nice to officially meet you Taylor.”
I grabbed his hand and shook it. “You to Joe.”
That night I was so star struck I couldn’t even believe it happened. I was checking when I noticed a tweet from him that said: ‘Coffee wasn’t my thing but with you it is.’ I smiled knowing it was for me and sent a tweet that said: ‘You played a show with no intentions of meeting me but here we are.’ A few minutes later my phone went telling me he retweeted it. I smiled to myself as I settled into bed. Coffee was suddenly my new favorite drink in the world.
